The Chess Federation of Canada (C.F.C.) is a charitable organization (10691 2058 RR) whose mandate is to promote and encourage the knowledge, study and play of the game of chess in Canada. The C.F.C. organizes National Championships (Canadian Closed, Canadian Women’s Closed, Canadian Junior and Canadian Youth Chess Championship), and provides funding for the winners to go on to the World Championships. In addition, the C.F.C. has sent a team to the World Chess Olympiad each time it has been held (every second year) since 1964. - Read more

Welcome to the homepage of the Alberta Chess Association, an affiliate of the Chess Federation of Canada. The Alberta Chess Association has been in existence for many decades, and aims to provide the citizens of this Alberta with the ability to take part in high quality tournaments. All of our members are rated by the CFC, which provides a guide to that player's strength. The Alberta Chess Association publishes the Alberta Chess Report, the official chess newsletter in Alberta. The club is usually open three days a week. (Except when special events occur.) Mondays and Saturdays feature casual chess which is best suited for those that are interested in coming to the club but don’t wish to play in serious events just yet. Still, players of all levels have been known to stop by for those events. Mondays and Saturdays have four games each with a time control of game in 30 minutes a side for every game. - Read more

The Chess'n Math Association (CMA) is a non-profit organization with provincial coordinators dedicated to bringing the game of chess to schools across Canada. The organization was founded in 1985 and now has three offices, 20 full-time staff and over 100 qualified chess instructors. Using our own 9-level instructional program, we teach chess as an extra-curricular activity to over 10,000 youngsters every week. The CMA is larger than all the other Canadian chess organizations combined.
